Explore open eucalypt forest, look for birds and take a dip in the delightful waterholes of Broadwater Creek along the way.

Follow this walk through eucalypt and riparian forest to waterholes along Broadwater Creek. Bring your bathers and refresh in the pools as you walk. Starting from the Broadwater camping area, the walk leads to the 'Overflow' on the boundary of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, then returns along the same track.

As you walk through the open forest, look for agile wallabies in the grassy understory. Among the red gum, brown salwood and swamp mahogany trees, you'll also see blue-winged kookaburras, forest kingfishers, eastern yellow robins. Relax with a picnic in the Broadwater day-use area after your walk.

Getting there and getting around

The Creek walk is in Broadwater, Abergowrie State Forest, 47km north-west of Ingham.

The Creek walk begins from the Broadwater camping area, 16km along an unsealed access road from the entrance to the state forest.

The boardwalk at the start of the Rainforest walk, the toilets and showers in the Broadwater camping area and the shelter shed in the Broadwater day-use area are wheelchair-accessible.
