You’ll be greeted by one of the locals when you arrive at this lush picnic area nestled in subtropical rainforest. Australian brush-turkeys strut and march around the car park and along the walking tracks, resembling feathered soldiers on patrol.

Find a picnic table in the shade and cook lunch on the nearby BBQ. Spend a bit of time soaking up the surrounds before heading off to explore the cool rainforest. The Border Track leaves from here and links up with the Rainforest, Tullawallal, Daves Creek, Coomera and Mount Hobwee circuits, and the Araucaria lookout and Wagawn tracks.

This park is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, famed for its ongoing geological processes, evolutionary history, and diversity (especially of rare, threatened and endemic species).
