Camping in Lamington

Visitors are advised that the camping area at Green Mountains is now known as O’Reilly’s Campground. The campground has undergone an extensive makeover as part of a collaborative project between the Queensland Government and O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat and now includes:

  • 24 tent sites
  • 21 campervan sites (some powered)
  • 17 safari tents (sleeping up to five people with two tents being wheelchair accessible)
  • shared ensuite pods to service the safari tents
  • a communal camp kitchen and fire pit with stunning views of the McPherson Range
  • a new amenities block
  • a small meeting room known as ‘The Hub’.

These works have been completed as part of the Green Mountains Camping Area Ecotourism Revitalisation Project.

Find out more about O’Reilly’s Campground, including how to book.

A privately-managed campground is available adjacent to the Binna Burra section of the park with facilities and within short walking distances to all graded walking tracks.

Some opportunities for remote, walk-in bush camping are available within the park. Please read the bush camping summary and check availability before booking your site.

Camping permits are required and fees apply. Camping permits for remote, walk-in bush camp sites must be booked online and in advance for all weekends, public and school holidays. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.

A QldParks-Wifi hotspot is available at the Green Mountains Information Centre to explore Queensland's national parks online, or to plan your visit, or check road conditions and local weather. All users are obliged to read and agree to the terms and conditions.
